How can I have my unfinished wood kitchen cabinet doors a light coverage antique white with wood grain showing?
I have seen this finish in stores a light coverage antique white with the wood grain showing through in a bit darker color (not white wash which grain is lighter ) they are not high gloss and not enitrely covered antique white

Firstly prepare the surface, give the doors a light sand to remove varnish [yours are not varnished but the wood needs to be porus so may need a sand] go along the wood grain,remove the doors of course.
Then rub with a fine wire wool,then get a water based paint and mix to a one to two basis with water.
with a sponge work this into the wood, if you fancy the idea of another colour say to beading , apply a wax crayon and so that area first with the darker shade? i would experiment with an off cut of wood first and i would finish with a wax all over ti give a light sheen or even a spray varnish building up enough coats to protect.
