wat is the difference between a breast-collar, neck strap and a breast-girth?
Breast Collar-It is used to keep your saddle from slipping foward. It goes over the horses head and attachs to the d-rings of the saddle, and girth(by going betwwen the legs). It also has a strap (on english ones) that goes over the withers. Most often used in hunter classes.
Neack strap-Is a peice of leather most often a stirrup leather that goes around the horses neck. This allows begginer jumpers to grab on while they go over the fences so they do not catch the pony in the mouth.
Breast Plates- Attachs to the billets of the saddle. It has a thick peice of leather that goes around the chest and attachs to the billets. A second strap which is adjustable goes over the horses neck/withers area. Used mostly in show jumping. They often have a loop in which you can put the standing maringale through. It keeps the saddle from slipping back.
Breast Girth- Is a strap of elastic that goes around the horses neck and attachs to the d rings. It is used most often in XC because it moves while the horse is galloping. It again keeps the saddle in place.
