Have you had a horse thats been kicked in head by another horse?
Have a thoroughbred thats been kicked in the head by another horse a few months ago. He is fine, eating normal and his head isnt sore or hot when i touch it. It is raised though on his forehead. I am thinking it may just take awhile to go down. Cant afford to get a vet out unless i know its absolutely needed. he is good in every other way just looks bad. anyone seen this before?
If he hasn't shown any behavioral changes and isn't in pain, then there is no reason to be concerned.
If the bone was bruised, it can take months to heal. There may even have been an undisplaced fracture. If there was considerable soft tissue damage at the time, there may be fibrous scarring that will contract down over time, but never completely disappear. Just keep an eye on it for any changes, and if it enlarges, becomes sensitive or gives off heat, or if any sign of muscular malfunction develops, then you should contact a vet.
