I have a new horse who is a 17 year old morgan she if fine under saddle and i used a bit with her and all she did was play with it. So i used an indian hackamore and she didnt freak out or anything she just didnt do what i said very well. She would do what i asked about 80% of the time. So what im wondering is what kind of bitless bridle would work best? Oh, and p.s. She has a VERY small mouth.

Dr. Cook's has been around a while and seems to work well. Size of nose won't matter with this bridle, but you should order the "cob" size. This works well for direct reining. Generally for a horse than neck reins, you will need something with shanks unless they have a very sensitive "handle" trained.

Another brand of bitless bridle is the Micklem Multibridle which can be used either bitless or with a bit but with the noseband attached to the bit so that when you apply pressure with the reins, it also affects the nose. You can also use it without a bit; it has several different ways to attach the reins so you can adjust the "severity" (none of the positions are severe) of the control.

A mechanical hacamore is the last choice. While it is commonly used, it is actually quite severe.
