for horse people about bits and tips?

Ok so i want to get into reining and i am teaching my 2 year old colt to rein. He is very athletic and can do what i need him to if he tries. I need some training advice and tips please. And also does a braided leather hackamore and curb bit good to teach him to stop and slide and to turn. If not what bits are good for this. Please and Thank you.

You would need to consult a local trainer who has experience in reining. If you attempt to train yourself, you may unintentionally allow your horse to develop bad habits. Also, don't overwork your horse or demand too much of him, he's only 2 and still growing. As far as the bit is concerned, I would also consult a trainer. Milder is better, you don't want to ruin your horse's mouth by using too much bit. Personally I would start with a training snaffle and rely more on my leg and seat cues than the bit in my horse's mouth.
