Why do western riders think they are better than English riders??! Ugh?
I mean seriously. The horses are smoother, the saddle gives you WAY more balance! I ride western occasionally, and there really is no equatation! Most western rider say "Oh, Well I'd like to see you run a barrel!' Eventers and jumpers DO!!!! It's called "S H I T, how do I get to the next jump in time?' I'm not saying that western is EASY, as you still have to work with a LARGE animal with a mind of it's own, but honestly, English is WAY harder. Also english riders USUALLY, not ALL the time have to deal with a MUCH LARGER, stronger horse. Have you ever seen a 17 hand barrel racer that was GOOD at what he/she did? No! Why why WWWHHHYYY?!?!?!?!??!?!
OMG i know! one of my friends rides western and she acts like shes tons better than me and it drives me crazy! like yes she had a hard horse to ride when she had her own, but that doesnt make her any better than me, and like the other day at lunch i said something and she goes and thats why you fell off and broke your arm when all your horse did was bolt, it ticked me off so bad, because he wasnt just bolting he was bucking also and i stayed on for at least ten minutes and when she got bucked off her horse threw two bucks and she was off. I ride both and i spend time around both and i agree that western is alot easier than english and the western riders im around are alot more stuck up than english riders i've met. Also at a camp i go to the lady asked if i had ridden before and i was like yeah but only english and she laughed and goes your in for a surprise then and completly set me apart as the worst rider all week up until the show when she didnt judge and i took first in all but one round and i took second to my western friend in that one. its just really really annoying. i have no idea why their like that buyt i feel your pain.
Proud Arabian Owner- lol i actually have run barrels english and jumped western. its not nearly as fun or comfy as in the other saddle lol I recomend to everyone not to try it haha
