What size horse do you think would be good for me?
I am 5'7 and 124lbs. I know this is a very general question, but I was wondering if anybody has an opinion about it, or knows somebody my size and how many hands their horse is...
I want to know because I am looking for a second horse to buy, and I just wanted a simple guideline to "rule out" any horse that would not be the appropriate size for me. My horse now is 17.3hh, but is 22 years old, so we are soon retiring him.

too whoever said the thing about never seeing very big western horses, I agree, but i ride 17 and 16.1 WESTERN horses, and my friend had a 18.1 hand WESTERN trained draft horse..
I think you would look fine on any horse, no ponies tho...
