Who here ride their horse bitless?
Last year I got my first horse
I had a hard time controling him, I tied several different bits and no change in his behavior. Then I tried a Bitless Bridle, my horse was calm, and responcive.
Any one else try this
I had his teeth looked at and there fine
I use a Side Pull bridle (homemade)
Yes I got the bitless bridle from an ad in the magizene. I show a lot so I need a bridle with a bit. But I also ride bareback A LOT. It really helps with my balance, and at first when I did it, I really pulled on my horses mouth so it hurt his mouth because I used his bridle with the bit. Then I I found the bitless bridle and I used it on him only for bareback riding. Then he was best I have ever ridden him when I first put the bitless bridle on him. It doesnt work on all horses, but some horses show you they dont need a bit by doing this. Now I show with NO bit and the old bridle with the bit I had, well I sold it on ebay! I win all my shows now. I have at least seen 20 times on the judges marks is "How do you get him so round with no bit?" And they also say "Nice bend, especially for not having a bit!" I love it! And my horse is happier too.
